Regular Season Round 22: Bayrakli - Cankaya 81-59

The most important game in the last round took place in between third ranked Cankaya (14-7) and twelfth ranked Bayrakli (9-12) on Friday night. Cankaya was crushed by Bayrakli on the road 59-81. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Bayrakli shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Revaziye Atila (-88, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Bayrakli's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Vicki Baugh (193-89, college: Tennessee) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center Yasemin Koc (189-93, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) added 15 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Cankaya. Five Bayrakli and four Cankaya players scored in double figures. Bayrakli moved-up to eleventh place. Cankaya at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Edremit. Bayrakli are looking forward to face Edirne (#12) on the road in the next round. Cankaya will play against Yalova Vip (#16) and is hoping to win this game.
