Regular Season Round 22: Schwabing - Leitershofen 80-77

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Topstar's (7-13) road loss to eighth ranked Schwabing (9-10) 77-80 on Saturday. Schwabing made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while Topstar only scored six points from the stripe. American swingman Nathan Gibbs (203-89, college: Westmont) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Fynn Fischer (208-99) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Schwabing players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Jonathan Genck (185-86) responded with 18 points and 7 assists and Slovenian guard Emanuel Richter (192-86) scored 25 points. Topstar's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Schwabing maintains eighth position in South-East with 9-10 record. Loser Topstar keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost. Schwabing will face league's leader Oberhaching in Deisenhofen in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Topstar will play at home against Ansbach (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
