Regular Season Round 36: KTU - Ereliai Mazeikiai 83-87

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Ereliai Mazeikiai's (16-20) road victory over 12th ranked KTU (7-28) 87-83 on Saturday. Ereliai Mazeikiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Aurimas Urbonas (190-93) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists and center Tomas Zdanavicius (204-96) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Medas Kuprijanovas (195-96) with 23 points (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Matas Sapiega (178-90) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ereliai Mazeikiai moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Telsiai and Taurages. KTU lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 28 games lost. Ereliai Mazeikiai will meet higher ranked Ezerunas (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KTU will play against Silute (#4) and hope to secure a win.
