Regular Season Round 22: Ebstorf - Vechta II 68-87

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Ebstorf (1-18) was rolled over at home by fifth ranked Vechta-2 (11-7) 87-68 on Saturday. Vechta-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ebstorf's 30. They outrebounded Ebstorf 45-28 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ebstorf was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Croatian center Neven Zeravica (205-88, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Robert Crawford (201-90, college: Cent.Arkansas) chipped in 30 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Vechta-2's coach Hanno Stein used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Canadian guard Justin Dennis (185-87, college: CSU Bakersfield) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Konrad Burda (195-96) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Vechta-2 maintains fifth position in North with 11-7 record. Ebstorf lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Vechta-2 will face league's leader Sixers in Sandersdorf in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ebstorf will play on the road against Westerstede (#9) and hope to win that game.
