Regular Season Round 24: Ankara DSI - Turk Telekom 78-89

TBL top team - Turk Telekom (23-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Ankara D.S.I. (5-19) 89-78. Ankara D.S.I. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: George Mason) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Polat Kaya (197-86) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even 26 points and 8 rebounds by American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay) did not help to save the game for Ankara D.S.I.. The former international center Mutlu Demir (210-87) added 10 points and 8 rebounds. Five Turk Telekom and four Ankara D.S.I. players scored in double figures. Ankara D.S.I.'s coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Turk Telekom have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-1 record. Ankara D.S.I. lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Samsun and Yalova Bld. Turk Telekom will play against league's second-placed Afyon Bld in Afyonkarahisar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ankara D.S.I.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ankara to the arena TED Kolejliler.
