Rather expected game in Joniskis where 13th ranked Delikatesas (7-29) was defeated by tenth ranked Taurages (16-20) 92-77 on Saturday. Taurages dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Delikatesas' 40. They outrebounded Delikatesas 36-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Taurages looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Paulius Morkeliunas (202-85, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 8 rebounds and forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) who added 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Taurages players scored in double figures. Taurages' coach Edvardas Zemgulis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Giedrius Stankevicius (205-96) with 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Rokas Valiulis (190-94) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Taurages moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ereliai Mazeikiai and Telsiai. Delikatesas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 29 games lost. Taurages will meet at home higher ranked Perlas (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Delikatesas will play against Telsiai (#9) in Telsiu and hope to secure a win.
