An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Maia. Top-ranked Imortal faced second-best Maia Basket. Guests from Albufeira (20-0) defeated host Maia Basket (13-7) 73-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maia Basket. The best player for the winners was Cape Verdean point guard Shane DaRosa (183, college: Bristol CC) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. Angolan forward Sergio Correia (198-85) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Imortal players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Joao Ribeiro (201-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Paulo Sereno (201-96) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Imortal have an impressive 20-game winning streak. Newly promoted Imortal maintains first position in Places 1-8 with 20-0 record. Maia Basket at the other side dropped to the third place with seven games lost. Imortal are looking forward to face league's second-placed Esgueira / Oli at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Maia Basket will play against Benfica B in Lisbona and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
