Regular Season Round 17: Horsholm - Virum 80-61

Very significant was Horsholm's (#1, 15-2) victory against second-ranked Virum (13-5) 80-61. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Virum. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 27-7 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Horsholm dominated on the defensive end, holding Virum to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 19 Virum turnovers. American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and forward Line Piechnik (171-90) chipped in 18 points. Five Horsholm players scored in double figures. Horsholm's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds and French forward Rudiane Eduardo (185-93, college: UTEP, agency: ProDep Management) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Horsholm maintains first place with 15-2 record. Defending champion Virum keeps the second position with five games lost. Horsholm are looking forward to face SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round. Virum will play at home against Stevnsgade and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
