Regular Season Round 19: Partizan - Radivoj Korac 88-71

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beograd: Partizan (#2) and Radivoj Korac (#4). Partizan (16-3) crushed visiting Radivoj Korac (13-6) by 17 points 88-71. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 46-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Partizan looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Radivoj Korac helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Ivanka Matic (193-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds. American guard Ashley Claussen (168-94, college: S.Oregon, agency: Lebedintsev Andriy) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Ljiljana Tomasevic (174-88) answered with 17 points and guard Hristina Marjanovic (175-92) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Radivoj Korac. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Partizan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-3 record having just three points less than leader Crvena Zvezda. Radivoj Korac at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Partizan are looking forward to face Student (#5) in Nis in the next round. Radivoj Korac will play at home against Spartak and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
