Second Stage Round 7: Rilski Sportist - Slavia 52-73

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Samokov. Third ranked Slavia faced 4th placed Rilski Sportist. Guests from Sofia (2-3) smashed host Rilski Sportist (0-5) 73-52. The game without a history. Slavia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 35 Rilski Sportist turnovers. Slavia brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ester Micheva (180-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds. The former international guard Stefka Nikolova (173-90) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Slavia players scored in double figures. Point guard Radina Zhivachka (164-0) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and center Ivana Nikolova (182-1) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Rilski Sportist. Rilski Sportist's coach Borislav Trifonov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Slavia maintains third place in Places 1-4 with 2-3 record having just two points less than leader Montana. Rilski Sportist at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
