Regular Season Round 22: Kaiserslautern - Langen 72-76

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked TV Langen (12-8) beat on the road 8th ranked Kaiserslautern (10-11) 76-72 on Sunday. American forward Nick Smith (203-95, college: Belmont) had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Leander Sielaff (194-94) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side forward Waldemar Nap (202-93) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Hungarian guard Gergely Hosszu (190-86) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Kaiserslautern players scored in double figures. TV Langen maintains fifth position in South-West with 12-8 record. Kaiserslautern lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. TV Langen will face Lich II (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kaiserslautern will play against Limburg (#15) and hope to win that game.
