Second Stage Round 6: Sanjoanense - Benfica B 86-78

Everything could happen in Sao Joao at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Sanjoanense and 5th ranked Benfica B had identical 11-8 record. This time Sanjoanense used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Lisbona 86-78. Sanjoanense players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Benfica B's players. It was a good game for Spanish power forward Sergi Coll (204-82) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Silvio Rodrigues (184-92) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Sanjoanense players scored in double figures. Power forward Goncalo Delgado (204-98) replied with 29 points and 9 rebounds and guard Rafael Santos (175-99) added 23 points and 5 assists in the effort for Benfica B. Benfica B's coach Paulo Silva rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sanjoanense maintains fourth position in Places 1-8 with 12-8 record. Benfica B at the other side dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. Sanjoanense will play against Belenenses CF (#8) in Lisbona in the next round. Benfica B will play at home against Maia Basket and hopes to get back on the winning track.
