Regular Season Round 19: Boa Viagem - AD Vagos 61-63

A very close game took place in Angra Heroismo between AD Vagos and Boa Viagem. Sixth ranked AD Vagos (12-8) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Boa Viagem (9-11). AD Vagos managed to escape with a 2-point win 63-61 on Sunday evening. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Khadijah Whittington (185-86, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. The former international point guard Ines Faustino (170-92) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. AD Vagos' coach Joao Janeiro used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Ugandan forward Claire Lamunu (185-93, college: Vanguard) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 18 rebounds and American guard Sara Dickey (180-95, college: Evansville) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Boa Viagem in the defeat. Four Boa Viagem players scored in double figures. AD Vagos moved-up to fourth place. Loser Boa Viagem dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. AD Vagos will meet at home CAB Madeira (#5) in the next round. Boa Viagem will play against Lombos Quinta in Carcavelos and hope to secure a win.
