The game in Istanbul was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Selcuklu (17-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Bakirkoy (12-12). Selcuklu managed to secure a 6-point victory 69-63 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Izzet Turkyilmaz (212-90) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds. American forward Will Daniels (202-86, college: Rhode Island) chipped in 21 points. Four Selcuklu players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Manny Atkins (201-91, college: Georgia St.) who recorded 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Reha Oz (200-78) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Selcuklu have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Antalyaspor. Bakirkoy at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Akhisar Bld. Selcuklu will meet at home Karesi Spor (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Bakirkoy will play against Bursaspor and hope to secure a win.
