Regular Season Round 37: Neptunas-Akv. - Suduva-Mantinga 77-90

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Klaipeda. Second ranked Suduva-Mantinga faced 3rd placed Neptunas-Akv.. Guests from Marijampole (31-6) defeated host Neptunas-Akv. (25-12) 90-77. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Neptunas-Akv.. Suduva-Mantinga dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Neptunas-Akv.'s 34. Suduva-Mantinga looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Forward Antanas Udras (203-92, agency: Octagon Europe) fired 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Rokas Stankevicius (200-95) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Suduva-Mantinga's coach Rytis Vaisvila used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Mindaugas Stasys (179-86) produced 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Suduva-Mantinga and five Neptunas-Akv. players scored in double figures. Suduva-Mantinga have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 31-6 record having just three points less than leader Vytis. Neptunas-Akv. at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. They share it with Silute. Suduva-Mantinga are looking forward to face Silute (#4) at home in the next round. Neptunas-Akv. will play against the league's leader Vytis in Sakiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
