Regular Season Round 19: Horsholm - Bakken 80-87

The game between Top Four teams took place in Horsholm. 4th placed host Horsholm (11-10) lost to second ranked Bakken (17-3) 87-80. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 29-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Horsholm outrebounded Bakken 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Doug Wiggins (185-88, college: Mountain St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Bakken players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Nigerian forward Tosin Mehinti (206-94, college: UAB) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bakken have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 17-3 record behind leader Horsens IC. Horsholm lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Bakken are looking forward to face Svendborg (#6) on the road in the next round. Horsholm will play against Stevnsgade and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
