Very important is a road loss of third ranked Maia Basket (13-8) against sixth ranked Benfica B (12-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Maia Basket was defeated by Benfica B in Lisbona 78-63. Benfica B outrebounded Maia Basket 52-29 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for center Neemias Queta (208-99) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds. Power forward Goncalo Delgado (204-98) helped adding 23 points and 14 rebounds. Four Benfica B players scored in double figures. Benfica B's coach Paulo Silva used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Joao Ribeiro (201-93) responded with 18 points and point guard Rodrigo Lima (183-98) scored 13 points. Benfica B maintains sixth place in Places 1-8 with 12-9 record. Maia Basket at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Sanjoanense. Benfica B will play against league's second-placed Esgueira / Oli at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maia Basket will play against Belenenses CF in Lisbona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
