Regular Season Round 20: Lombos Quinta - Boa Viagem 83-67

Rather expected game in Carcavelos where 6th ranked Boa Viagem (9-12) was defeated by third ranked Lombos Quinta (16-5) 83-67 on Sunday. Lombos Quinta dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Boa Viagem's 22. They outrebounded Boa Viagem 44-24 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Mali center Kankou Coulibaly (185-90) who helped to win the game recording 8 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Mozambican guard Chanaya Pinto (-0) who added 13 points during the contest. Ugandan forward Claire Lamunu (185-93, college: Vanguard) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Sara Dickey (180-95, college: Evansville) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lombos Quinta moved-up to second place, which they share with GDESSA. Boa Viagem lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. Lombos Quinta will face league's leader Uniao Sportiva in Ponta Delgada in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Boa Viagem will play on the road against Alges (#12) and hope to win that game.
