Everything went according to plan when first ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (20-1) outscored on the road 10th ranked Mainz (8-14) 105-74 on Sunday. Mainz was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Croatian center Petar Madunic (212-93, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Lithuanian guard Darius Pakamanis (192-81) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Kewan Beebe (183, college: Geneseo St.) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five BV Villingen-Schwenningen and four Mainz players scored in double figures. Mainz's coach Christian Zander gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the nineteenth consecutive win for BV Villingen-Schwenningen. They maintain first place in South-West with 20-1 record. Loser Mainz keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will face Saarlouis/Dillingen (#4) at home in the next round. Mainz will play against Koblenz (#3) and hope to win that game.
