Regular Season Round 24: Bayreuth - Braunschweig 84-62
Date: March 9, 2018
There was no surprise when 12th ranked Braunschweig (11-13) was outleveled on the road by fourth ranked BBC Bayreuth (17-7) 84-62 on Friday. BBC Bayreuth looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward DeMon Brooks (201-92, college: Davidson) who scored that evening 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) supported him with 10 points and 7 assists. Linhart is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds by power forward Scott Eatherton (203-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Braunschweig. Guard DeAndre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis, agency: BeoBasket) added 20 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BBC Bayreuth maintains fourth position with 17-7 record. Loser Braunschweig keeps the twelfth place with 13 games lost. BBC Bayreuth will meet Science City Jena (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Braunschweig will play against the league's leader Bayern Muenchen and hope to secure a win.
