Eleventh-ranked Edirne (10-13) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Mersin MBK (17-7) on Friday. The visitors from Mersin managed to secure only three-point victory 60-57. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Edirne. Mersin MBK looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Asli Sevinc (178-79, agency: Fly Basketball) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and guard Deniz Boz (172-82, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) accounted for 7 points and 7 assists. American center Molly Schlemer (196-92, college: Cal Poly - SLO) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Yagmur Bul (164-96) added 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for Edirne in the defeat. Mersin MBK moved-up to second place. Loser Edirne keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Mersin MBK will meet at home Fenerbahce G. (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Edirne will play against Elazig and hope to secure a win.
