There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Ankara D.S.I. (7-19) beat at home higher ranked Istanbulspor (11-15) 84-67 on Friday. Ankara D.S.I. had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Istanbulspor's players. American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado, agency: KMG Sports Management) replied with 29 points and 4 assists and forward Atakan Denk (191-91) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Istanbulspor. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ankara D.S.I. moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with TED Kolejliler and Petkim. Loser Istanbulspor keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Ankara D.S.I. will face higher ranked Bandirma Kir. (#7) in Balikesir in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
