Second Stage Round 2: Krka - Helios 89-81

Very predictable result in Novo Mesto where Krka (2-1) defeated Helios (0-3) 89-81. It looked good early as Helios took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Krka took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. 26 personal fouls committed by Helios helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian-Bosnian forward Marko Josilo (200-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. International power forward Sasa Zagorac (206-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Krka's coach Simon Petrov used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International forward Blaz Mahkovic (201-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) replied with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Jure Pelko (190-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Helios. Five Krka and four Helios players scored in double figures. Krka's next round opponent will be Olimpija in Ljubljana and it may be the game of the week. Helios will play at home against KK Primorska (#2) and hope to win that game.
