Regular Season Round 22: Neptunas - Vytautas 73-65

Very expected game when 10th ranked Vytautas (5-20) lost to third ranked Neptunas (19-6) in Klaipeda 65-73 on Saturday. Vytautas trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 22-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 65-73 at the end of the game. Neptunas dominated on the defensive end, holding Vytautas to just 7 points in first quarter. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) notched 16 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and power forward Simas Galdikas (203-87) supported him with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by forward Justas Sinica (203-85) did not help to save the game for Vytautas. International forward Eigirdas Zukauskas (205-92) added 9 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Neptunas maintains third position with 19-6 record having just three points less than leader Zalgiris. Loser Vytautas stay at the bottom place with 20 games lost. Neptunas will meet league's second-placed Lietuvos rytas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vytautas will play against Dzukija (#8) in Alytus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
