Regular Season Round 15: Kyiv Basket - Rivne 77-44

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kyiv. Leader Kyiv Basket faced 3rd placed Rivne. Host Kyiv Basket (23-0) smashed guests from Rivne (10-13) 77-44. The game without a history. Kyiv Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Rivne's players. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Nataliya Skorbatyuk (182-95) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Tetyana Yurkevicius (187-95) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Viktoriya Shmatova with 12 points and 4 assists and center Tetiana Havrylchyk (196-0) scored 4 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the twentieth consecutive win for Kyiv Basket. Newly promoted Kyiv Basket maintains first place with 23-0 record. Loser Rivne dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. Kyiv Basket will meet bottom-ranked Tavriyska Zirka (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rivne will play against Chaika and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
