Regular Season Round 21: Chemnitz - Wasserburg 67-64

The most exciting game of round 21 in the DBBL took place in Chemnitz. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best TSV 1880 Wasserburg (16-5) to eighth ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (9-12) 67-64 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TSV 1880 Wasserburg. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TSV 1880 Wasserburg won third quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when ChemCats Chemnitz won last quarter 14-11. The best player for the winners was American guard Kendall Noble (180, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Legends Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Swedish forward Abigail Asoro (183-93, college: Iowa Western CC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) who recorded 7 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import point guard Haiden Palmer (173-91, college: Gonzaga) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ChemCats Chemnitz have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 9-12 record. Defending champion TSV 1880 Wasserburg keeps the second position with five games lost. ChemCats Chemnitz are looking forward to face higher ranked Herner TC (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TSV 1880 Wasserburg will play against TV Saarlouis Royals and is hoping to win this game.
