Very predictable result when third ranked Gmunden Swans (17-7) smashed at home 8th ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (6-18) 89-70 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-70. Gmunden Swans looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Aaron Rountree-III (203-93, college: Iona) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals during the contest. Gmunden Swans' coach Bernd Wimmer used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Croatian Marko Car (188-85) responded with 13 points and 5 assists and American forward Chris Reyes (201-94, college: Pepperdine) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans moved-up to second place. Furstenfeld Panthers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 18 games lost. Gmunden Swans will face Dukes (#6) in Klosterneuburg in the next round.
