Regular Season Round 24: Telekom Bsk - Jena 102-80
Date: March 11, 2018
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Science City Jena (9-15) was outscored by sixth ranked Telekom Baskets (15-8) in Bonn 102-80 on Sunday. Telekom Baskets made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Telekom Baskets outrebounded Science City Jena 34-21 including a 24-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by guard Malcolm Hill (198-95, college: Illinois, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored that evening 24 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and power forward Julian Gamble (208-89, college: Miami, FL) supported him with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 6 assists by guard Skyler Bowlin (191-89, college: Missouri So.) did not help to save the game for Science City Jena. Point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) added 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Telekom Baskets moved-up to fifth place. Science City Jena lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Telekom Baskets will meet Mitteldeutscher BC (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Science City Jena will play against BBC Bayreuth and hope to secure a win.
