There was no surprise in Odessa where 5th ranked HAI (9-14) was defeated by second ranked Interkhim (17-3) 69-63 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 20-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Yulia Musienko (177-97) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Kristina Karp (196-98) chipped in 6 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Svitlana Radionova (184-97) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 19 rebounds and point guard Nataliya Pokrovenko (170-93) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Interkhim maintains second place with 17-3 record having nine points less than leader Kyiv Basket. Loser HAI dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. Interkhim will face Dynamo-NPU (#3) in Kyiv in the next round, which may be the game of the day. HAI will play on the road against Vinnystkiye M. in Vinnytsia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
