Regular Season Round 25: Giessen 46ers - Ludwigsburg 98-118

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Giessen 46ers (11-13) were outplayed at home by third ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (19-5) 118-98. EnBW Ludwigsburg made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Giessen 46ers turnovers. EnBW Ludwigsburg shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Giessen 46ers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American forward Elgin Cook (198-93, college: Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists. Canadian guard Adika Peter-McNeilly (190-93, college: Ryerson) contributed with 24 points for the winners. EnBW Ludwigsburg's coach John Patrick allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center John Bryant (210-87, college: Santa Clara) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and center Mahir Agva (206-96) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Giessen 46ers. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for EnBW Ludwigsburg. They maintain third place with 19-5 record having four points less than leader B.Muenchen. Giessen 46ers lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg's next round opponent will be Science City Jena (#13) at home and are hoping to win another game. Giessen 46ers will play against Walter Tigers in Tuebingen and hope to win that game.
