We should mention about the upset which took place in Ankara, where 14th ranked Socar Petkim (7-21) lost to seventeenth ranked Ankara D.S.I. (8-20) in a road game 87-94 on Saturday. Ankara D.S.I. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Socar Petkim's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Socar Petkim was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay) fired 43 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Mutlu Demir (210-87) chipped in 16 points. American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) produced 27 points and 5 assists and Bulgarian power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Socar Petkim's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ankara D.S.I. moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Yalova Bld. Socar Petkim lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. Ankara D.S.I. will face bottom-ranked Samsun (#18) on the road in the next round. Socar Petkim will play against Afyon Bld having rather not much hope for a victory.
