Important game to mention about took place in Pitesti. Fifth ranked Steaua CSM (15-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Pitesti (13-9) 80-77 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Steaua CSM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for Serbian power forward Dragan Zekovic (209-87, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Jonte Flowers (196-85, college: Winona St.) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Porter Troupe (196-83, college: Portland, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 20 points and the former international Titus Nicoara (203-88, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Pitesti. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Steaua CSM moved-up to third place, which they share with BC Timisoara and Oradea. Pitesti at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Steaua CSM will play against Oradea (#5) at home in the next round. Pitesti will play against Timba Timosoara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
