Regular Season Round 25: Zwickau - Vilsbiburg 82-110

Very expected game when 14th ranked GGZ Baskets (1-22) were smashed by third ranked Vilsbiburg (18-4) in Zwickau 110-82 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for Czech center Lubos Novy (204-91) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 8 rebounds. British forward Joshua Guddemi (201-94, college: New Haven) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Russian swingman Kemal Velishaev (203-93) answered with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Hendrik Bellscheidt (193-90) added 18 points in the effort for GGZ Baskets. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Vilsbiburg. They maintain third place in South-East with 18-4 record having six points less than leader Muenster. GGZ Baskets lost their twenty second game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 22 games lost. Vilsbiburg will face TSV Troester (#5) in Breitenguessbach in the next round.
