Very expected game when 14th ranked Lich II (5-17) lost on the road to second ranked Speyer (21-2) 90-74 on Saturday. Speyer shot 27 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Lich II only scored ten points from the stripe. Speyer forced 22 Lich II turnovers and outrebounded them 49-30 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lich II was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Dominican-Spanish power forward Michel Acosta (201-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Spanish point guard Jordi Salto (190-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Five Speyer players scored in double figures. Croatian Karlo Lebo (196-94, agency: PEPI SPORT) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Chris Longoria (193-92, college: Valdosta St.) added 24 points in the effort for Lich II. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Speyer. They maintain second place in South-West with 21-2 record behind leader Muenster.
