Regular Season Round 25: EWE Baskets - Bremerhaven 85-73

Date: March 18, 2018
Not a big story in a game in Oldenburg where 16th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (5-19) was defeated by sixth ranked EWE Baskets (16-9) 85-73. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Mickey McConnell (182-89, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 assists. Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. EWE Baskets' coach Mladen Drijencic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Jordan Hulls (180-90, college: Indiana) answered with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Swiss forward Michael Kessens (206-91, college: FIU, agency: Court Side) added 7 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. The victory was the third consecutive win for EWE Baskets. They maintain sixth place with 16-9 record. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. EWE Baskets' next round opponent will be higher ranked BBC Bayreuth (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against Braunschweig (#12) and hope to win that game.
