Second Stage Round 9: Beroe-2 - Chavdar 80-83

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Division A took place in Stara Zagora. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Beroe-2 (1-8) to fourth ranked Chavdar (4-5) 83-80 on Sunday evening. Chavdar forced 19 Beroe-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Tsenko Nakov (185-87) who scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Filip Kamenov (200-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Four Chavdar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Nikolay Titkov (184-98) who recorded 24 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and guard Evgeni Vasilev (192-99) added 28 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively. Beroe-2's coach Boyko Milenkov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chavdar maintains fourth place in A with 4-5 record. Newly promoted Beroe-2 keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Chavdar are looking forward to face league's second-placed UE Varna at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Beroe-2 will play against the league's leader BUBA (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
