We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Alexandria (1-3) was defeated at home by Cluj Napoca (1-3) 70-57 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Cluj Napoca. Alexandria was better in second period 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Amanda Thompson (178-87, college: Oklahoma) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import swingman Theairra Taylor (180-91, college: Iowa) chipped in 15 points. The former international center Georgiana Rus (189-87) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and Nigerian guard Promise Amukamara (173-93, college: Arizona St.) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
