Second Stage Round 5: Triglav - Konjice 80-42

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kranj. Second ranked Triglav faced 4th placed Konjice. Host Triglav (16-3) smashed guests from Konjice (9-10) 80-42. The game without a history. Triglav led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Konjice to just 6 points in first quarter. Triglav dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Konjice's 20. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Maja Jakobcic (184-97) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Urska Zibert (174-93) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Triglav players scored in double figures. Forward Katja Klancnik (177-90) produced 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Aneja Einfalt (174-98) added 9 points respectively for the guests. Konjice's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Triglav have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-3 record having just three points less than leader Celje. Konjice at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Triglav are looking forward to face Ilrija (#3) in Ljubljana in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Konjice will play at home against Maribor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
