The game in Utena was also quite interesting. Third ranked Neptunas (21-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Juventus (9-18). Neptunas managed to secure a 9-point victory 90-81 on Saturday. Juventus was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 27-16 charge of Neptunas, which allowed them to win the game. They made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Neptunas outrebounded Juventus 34-18 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Simas Galdikas (203-87) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and international forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89) who added 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) with 18 points and 5 assists and center Karolis Guscikas (205-92, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 16 points. Five Neptunas and four Juventus players scored in double figures. Neptunas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 21-6 record having just three points less than leader Zalgiris. Juventus lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Dzukija. Neptunas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Juventus will play again against Neptunas (#3) in Klaipeda and hope to secure a win.
