Regular Season Round 28: Politekhnik - Mykolaiv 92-90

The most exciting game of round 28 in the Superleague took place in Kharkiv. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Mykolaiv (10-18) to seventh ranked Politekhnik (7-21) 92-90 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mykolaiv won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Politekhnik made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Mykolaiv helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian point guard Vuk Jovanovic (183-95) who helped to win the game recording 26 points. American guard Bo Barnes (193-90, college: Arizona St., agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Center Oleksandr Kushnirov (210-92) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Vladyslav Tonchenko (185-89) added 13 points and 9 assists in the effort for Mykolaiv. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mykolaiv's coach Vladimir Polyakh tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Politekhnik maintains seventh position with 7-21 record. Mykolaiv at the other side keeps the sixth place with 18 games lost.
