Regular Season Round 28: Mariupol - Niko-Basket 90-84

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Niko-Basket (21-5) on the court of fourth ranked Mariupol on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Mariupol 90-84. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-84. Strangely Niko-Basket outrebounded Mariupol 51-26 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Vladyslav Ryzhov (190-94) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 6 assists. Point guard Mark Bodnar (193-98) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Mykhailo Horobchenko (182-98) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and Nigerian-Russian center Aleksey Adediran (201-82, college: Binghamton) added 24 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Niko-Basket. Five Niko-Basket players scored in double figures. Niko-Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mariupol maintains fourth position with 13-13 record. Niko-Basket at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. Mariupol are looking forward to face Kharkivski Sokoly (#6) at home in the next round. Niko-Basket will play against Ch.Mavpy 2 (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
