Second Stage Round 4: KK Primorska - Ilirija 89-78

Rather expected game in Koper where 6th ranked Ilirija (1-3) was defeated by third ranked KK Primorska (3-1) 89-78 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 49-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. KK Primorska looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Matic Rebec (183-95) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists and Croatian center Marijan Cakarun (204-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) who added 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five KK Primorska players scored in double figures. KK Primorska's coach Jurica Golemac used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side international point guard Zan-Mark Sisko (189-97, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists and the former international forward Stipe Modric (205-79) scored 18 points. KK Primorska moved-up to second place in Nova KBM. Newly promoted Ilirija dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. KK Primorska will face league's leader Olimpija in Ljubljana in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ilirija will play at home against Tajfun (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
