Second Stage Round 6: Konjice - Maribor 64-67

Important game to mention about took place in Konjice. Fifth ranked Maribor (9-11) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Konjice (9-11) 67-64 in the game for the fourth place. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-8. But Konjice won second period 21-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maribor shot 28 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Konjice only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Konjice 48-31 including 19 on the offensive glass. Konjice was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. International Tina Cvijanovic (173-98) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Merisa Dautovic (183-99) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Katja Klancnik (177-90) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Tia Tajhar (167-2) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Maribor moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Konjice. Maribor will play against higher ranked Ilrija (#3) in Ljubljana in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Konjice will play on the road against Grosbasket in Grosuplje and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
