Regular Season Round 30: Ankara DSI - Duzce Bld. 84-78

An interesting game took place in Ankara where higher ranked Duzce Belediye (12-18) was upset on the court of sixteenth ranked Ankara D.S.I. (9-21) 84-78 on Friday. Ankara D.S.I. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Duzce Belediye's 30. They outrebounded Duzce Belediye 41-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ankara D.S.I. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds. Point guard Ali Kavaklioglu (186-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 assists. Four Ankara D.S.I. players scored in double figures. Ankara D.S.I.'s coach Hasan Ozmeric used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Jamaican power forward Kyle Hunt (208-89, college: Oklahoma S&A, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 30 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Corin Henry (178-88, college: Tarleton St., agency: Octagon Europe) added 11 points and 11 assists respectively. Ankara D.S.I. moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Petkim. Duzce Belediye lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Karesi Spor. Ankara D.S.I. will meet Yalova Bld (#17) on the road in the next round. Duzce Belediye will play against Afyon Bld (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
