Regular Season Round 29: Niko-Basket - Ch.Mavpy 2 105-57

Higher League top team - Niko-Basket (22-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Ch.Mavpy 2 (2-25) in Mykolaiv 105-57. The game without a history. Niko-Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Ch.Mavpy 2's 36. Niko-Basket forced 20 Ch.Mavpy 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 53-24 including a 38-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Niko-Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Ch.Mavpy 2's players. Nigerian-Russian center Aleksey Adediran (201-82, college: Binghamton) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 17 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winning side and guard Boris Berestnev (190-0) accounted for 19 points and 4 assists. Niko-Basket's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Vladislav Melnyk (203-99) came up with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks and forward Maksym Deyna (204-99) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Ch.Mavpy 2 in the defeat. Niko-Basket maintains first place with 22-5 record. Ch.Mavpy 2 lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 25 games lost. Niko-Basket will again play against Ch.Mavpy 2 (#8) in Cherkasy in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ch.Mavpy 2 will have a break next round.
