Regular Season Round 22: Academic Sofia - Cherno More 75-69

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Academic Sofia (8-9) defeated at home 8th ranked Cherno More (5-15) 75-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cherno More won third quarter 23-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cherno More was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for guard Aleksandar Milov (198-95) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Ivan Alipiev (200-99) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Academic Sofia players scored in double figures. The former international forward Sim Iliev (204-89, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Nikolay Grozev (200-94) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Cherno More. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 8-9 record. Cherno More lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 15 games lost. Academic Sofia will play against higher ranked Academik Plovdiv (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cherno More will have a break next round.
