Second Stage Round 5: Igokea - Kakanj 91-75

The most surprising game was the first loss of Kakanj (2-1) in Aleksandrovac on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Igokea (2-1) 91-75. It was a key game for the second position in I. Igokea dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Kakanj's 26 and made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. Igokea looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Dominic Artis (192-93, college: UTEP) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 6 assists. Naturalized Croatian center Robert Rikic (219-90) contributed with 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Igokea players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Milivoje Bozovic (210-85, agency: BeoExcell) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kakanj. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place in I. Igokea are looking forward to face Bosna-Royal (#6) in Sarajevo in the next round. Kakanj will play on the road against Zrinjski HT in Mostar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
