Regular Season Round 25: Vytautas - Lietkabelis 76-91

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Lietkabelis (18-10) beat bottom-ranked Vytautas (5-23) in Prienai 91-76. The game without a history. Lietkabelis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Vytautas' 30. They outrebounded Vytautas 36-19 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lietkabelis players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. International power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. The former international center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Eigirdas Zukauskas (205-92) produced 14 points and the former international power forward Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lietkabelis maintains fourth place with 18-10 record. Vytautas lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Lietkabelis' next round opponent will be Juventus (#7) in Utena. Vytautas will play on the road against the league's second-placed Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius and hope to win that game.
