Regular Season Round 23: Mersin BSB - Botas 63-71

The game in Mersin was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Botas (15-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Mersin BSB (13-10). Botas managed to secure a 8-point victory 71-63 on Saturday. Botas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Swedish guard Frida Eldebrink (174-88, agency: ProDep Management) who scored 22 points and 7 assists. American center Kiah Stokes (190-93, college: Connecticut) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Four Botas players scored in double figures. American guard Bria Hartley (173-92, college: Connecticut) produced 20 points and 7 assists and Bosnian-Slovenian power forward Marica Gajic (187-95) added 16 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the hosts. Botas maintains fourth place with 15-8 record. Mersin BSB lost third consecutive game. They still keep top position with ten games lost. Botas will face Bornova (#7) at home in the next round. Mersin BSB's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Mersin to the arena Cukurova.
