Regular Season Round 18: Chaika - Interkhim 53-77

The game in Berdiansk supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Interkhim (20-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Chaika (11-15). Interkhim smashed Chaika 77-53 on Sunday. The game without a history. Interkhim led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Chaika to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Swingman Yulia Musienko (177-97) scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Svitlana Kolibabchuk (189-87) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Interkhim's coach Iryna Shchipakina felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Olexandra Radulovich-Kurasova (186-86) with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Iryna Tsekova (178-78) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Interkhim maintains second position with 20-6 record having eight points less than leader Kyiv Basket. Newly promoted Chaika keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. Interkhim will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chaika will play again against the league's second-placed Interkhim (#2) and hope to secure a win.
